Overview
ThreadLine ("the App") is developed by Dave Waymouth. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices regarding your data.
In short: ThreadLine does not collect or store any personal information on our servers. The App displays non-personalized ads — we do not use your advertising identifier or track you across other apps.
Information We Collect
ThreadLine does not collect personal information. We do not require an account, and we do not operate any servers that receive data from the App.
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Puzzle progress — which puzzles you have completed, your star ratings, and hint usage.
- Streak and statistics — your current streak, best streak, total puzzles solved, and average stars.
- App preferences — any settings or display preferences you configure.
Puzzle content is synced via Apple CloudKit (iCloud), which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Advertising
ThreadLine displays non-personalized ads served through Google AdMob. We do not use personalized advertising, and your Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) is never accessed or shared. No tracking occurs across other apps or websites.
Google may collect and process data as described in Google's Privacy Policy and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".
To deliver non-personalized ads, our ad provider may collect a device identifier (not Apple's Advertising Identifier/IDFA), approximate location derived from your IP address, and diagnostic data. This information is used for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention. It is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
Ad attribution uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork, which measures ad performance without identifying individual users.
Notifications
ThreadLine can send optional push notifications to let you know when a new daily puzzle is available. These alerts are delivered through Apple's notification service and are entirely optional — you can enable or disable them at any time in your device's Settings. We do not collect any personal information through notifications.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties. The limited data used by Google AdMob to serve non-personalized ads is governed by Google's privacy policy, linked above.
Data Retention & Deletion
Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no data to retain or delete on our end. All data stored by the App exists locally on your device.
To delete all App data, delete the App from your device. Your local progress will be removed along with the App.
Children's Privacy
ThreadLine is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address the situation.
Your Choices
- Delete App data — delete the App from your device to remove all locally stored data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
